Trip was for a golfing break and Thorpness did not disappoint. The venue was particularly chosen for a winter break because of the sandy free draining soil and what a treat not a bit of mud in sight fabulous lush green fairways with lots of run on the ball. What a treat for early February. The hotel was very friendly and welcoming and food excellent will definitely be back

Looved the course, but bunkers, lots of them but a lack of sand in them meant you took a little sand and a lot of mud resulting in the ball staying in the bunker, was the same last .aye as well, fairways and greens very good, signposting to next hole very good, pro shop well stock.

Played in December so not the best time of year but the course was still playing well. Rooms slightly dated but still very comfortable and the staff were absolutely great.

Have been going to Thorpeness golf club for 30 years and it never fails. The rooms are a little tired now.

Whole place in desperate need of decoration, it's very poor, paint peeling everywhere you look, hallway to our room stinks of damp, not impressed at all

3rd stay for me. The staff is so friendly and helpful, the breakfast and dinner were simply gorgeous with lots of choices and the beds ever so comfortable. Would definitely go back for business and pleasure.

Phenomenal as Always. Great People, Great Place, Warm Welcoming Atmosphere, with Friendly Professional Staff & teams offering exvellent service. The tranquility of the mystical mere & it's fairytale folktales and ambitions created by TGC&H predecessors on this grand old golf course is a walk through the Reminiscence of one's childhood imaginations of curiosities. With its many inviting nooks, crannies & spinneys in, out & on the golf course, surrounded by its unforgiving gorse hedgerows in this unique Suffolk wilderness. One could enjoy just a stroll, or a pot of tea or sip coffee delights with mouthwatering treats hot & cold food served daily from the Bar, situated just a stone throw from the infamous coastal paths on our beautiful east east coast seashore. A very idyllic place to visit & feel right at home away from home at. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED so please do Treat Yourself & Come along & visit . TGC & H are extremely Dog friendly catering for all families needs, going above & beyond your expectations. We stayed overnight for a short golf break. The room and location were nice. Staff was very friendly and warm welcome. The food was fantastic (I do recommend fish and chip, absolutely yum!!) but this menu is not included in the golf break package. Also, some menu you need to pay extra.

Stayed over a weekend. Had a nice room overlooking third tee. Son had his wedding at the country club. Staff was extremely helpful. Food lovely. Great location.

I am not sure how this hotel got the standard for reviews it has so thought I must put the record straight. If you are a male golfer on a stag do this is truly the hotel for you. Seriously the swearing and beer drinking before 10am is the place to be assuming you are trying to connect with your cave man previous existence. On the plus side the breakfast was fantastic great food cooked to order with lovely friendly staff. But we had a problem with no hot water no one to tell on our first night so boiled the kettle. Then in the morning told to use the communal golf facilities. Btw we booked an ensuite room! Kerry or Kelly said this was unforseen problem that the boiler was leaking when she checked it out. My husband informed me that if this happened at home we have the back up of an immersion. I asked how many rooms were affected she said 8 I then asked how many showers were available for ladies she said 2 or 3. Plus side room was clean but very basic television was tiny so if you want to watch it bring a magnifying glass we were only interested in the news. On the plus side close to a number of lovely walks and Thorpeness village very pretty.

Part of a large group of golfers who have a 2-day trip to different places every year, and we were very impressed with Thorpeness. It is a golf club with an hotel, rather than an hotel with a golf course.

Wonderful hotel. Great dinner and breakfast. Large room. Great beautiful setting overlooking the golf greens and lake. Very quiet. Good staff. Walk along old railway track to Aldeburgh and back along beach from hotel. 5 min to beach. Would stay again.

I had a great few days stay there with friends. Food good, staff very friendly and helpful. Golf course is excellent. I would recommend it to any golfers.

Lovely location. 10 minutes walk from the sea. I'm not golfer but the course looked really good. Easy parking and good restaurant.
